Pick your year. 2017 or before puts you on the first-generation Theta platform, built alongside the Chevrolet Equinox on shared architecture. From 2018 you are on the Delta platform: turbocharged engines throughout, Electronic Precision Shift push-button gear selection, and suspension geometry that shares nothing with the Theta cars. No part from a Theta build will fit a Delta build. We hold ACDelco and GM Genuine at Musaffah for both generations. Send the VIN on WhatsApp and we confirm the platform before anything leaves the shelf.
INVENTORY
GMC Terrain Spare Parts: Both Generations on the Shelf
Both GMC Terrain generations are on the shelves at our Musaffah shop. ACDelco and GM Genuine cover the Theta first generation (2010–2017) and the Delta second generation (2018-on). Brake pads and rotors, front and rear suspension arms and bushings, wheel bearings, sway bar links, oil filters, engine and cabin air filters, and spark plugs are held in regular stock across both platforms.
When the Theta generation launched in 2010 it offered a 2.4L naturally aspirated I4 throughout, with a V6 alongside it that started at 3.0L for 2010–2012 and moved to 3.6L from 2013. The Delta generation that arrived in 2018 brought three turbocharged engines: 1.5T I4 as the base, 2.0T I4 for higher trims and Denali, and 1.6T diesel I4. Each engine family has its own oil filter, air filter, and plug specification. WhatsApp your year, engine, and VIN and we identify the correct references before a price goes out.
GENERATION DECODER
Terrain Generation Decoder: Theta and Delta
Ordering a Terrain part by model name alone is a reliable way to receive the wrong item. Two separate platform architectures underlie the nameplate: Theta for 2010–2017, Delta from 2018. Different suspension, different engine families, different transmission options. The table below shows exactly where each generation starts and what the part-relevant changes are at each boundary.
In 2013 the first-generation Terrain gained the Denali trim and the 3.0L V6 made way for a 3.6L. The 2016 refresh changed the fascias, added a power dome hood, and fitted LED daytime running lights, but left the Theta platform and suspension geometry untouched. First-generation service parts therefore work across the full 2010–2017 span within the same engine family. V6 service items split at 2013 between the 3.0L and 3.6L builds. WhatsApp the 17-digit VIN and we confirm generation, platform, and engine in one step.
| Generation | Years | Platform code | What changes for parts |
|---|---|---|---|
| First generation | 2010–2017 | Theta | 2.4L I4 throughout; 3.0L V6 (2010–2012) upgraded to 3.6L V6 from 2013; Denali trim added 2013; Chevrolet Equinox platform sibling; 2016 refresh updated fascias, power dome hood, and LED DRLs without changing platform or suspension geometry; service and suspension parts do not cross to Delta second generation |
| Second generation | 2018–2024 | Delta | Complete redesign; 1.5T I4 (base), 2.0T I4 (higher trims and Denali), 1.6T diesel I4; Electronic Precision Shift push-button gear selector on petrol models paired with 9-speed automatic; diesel uses 6-speed automatic; no suspension, brake, or service parts cross from Theta first generation; 2022 refresh updated exterior styling without platform change |
| Third generation | 2025–present | Delta (updated) | All-new exterior and interior redesign; 1.5T I4 carried over from second generation; CVT on FWD models, 8-speed automatic on AWD; no parts cross from second generation |
FITMENT CHECK
Theta to Delta: Two Terrains With No Shared Parts
A name and a grille badge are what the first-generation Terrain (2010–2017) and second-generation Terrain (2018-on) have in common. Under the skin they are unrelated. The Theta first generation sits on the same platform architecture as the matching-era Chevrolet Equinox. The Delta second generation changed everything: a different suspension layout, a turbocharged engine family in place of the naturally aspirated options, and Electronic Precision Shift push-button gear selection where the Theta models had a conventional shifter. No arm, bushing, bearing, or engine service part crosses between the two.
Theta architecture links the first-generation Terrain and first-generation Equinox, so parts can cross on certain categories. They do not always cross, and trim and year differences within the platform matter. Send the VIN for your Terrain and the specific part before we confirm anything. The same logic applies to second-generation Terrain and second-generation Equinox: both run Delta-family architecture, but VIN verification is still needed before we confirm a cross-fit.
Year 2017 sits cleanly on the Theta side of the line; 2018 sits cleanly on the Delta side. The generation boundary is not ambiguous on this model. The engine within the generation still affects the service part number, though. Send year and engine on WhatsApp and we pull the right part family for your build before you travel to the shop.
OEM & AFTERMARKET
ACDelco and GM Genuine for Terrain: Both Generations Covered
ACDelco and GM Genuine are the two OEM-line brands we hold at Musaffah for both Terrain generations. ACDelco Gold (Professional) is the OEM-equivalent tier: the right choice for brake pads, filters, and most suspension work. Where fitment tolerance is tight, as it can be with geometry-sensitive suspension components, ACDelco Original Equipment (OE) gives you the factory part number without variation. GM Genuine Parts is GM's single-tier factory line. Both are stocked for Theta-first-gen and Delta-second-gen Terrain applications.
Engine selection drives service parts within each generation. A Delta second-generation Terrain with the 1.5T I4 takes a different oil filter and air filter from the 2.0T I4 version in the same model year. The 1.6T diesel I4 has its own service schedule entirely. In the Theta first generation, V6 service items split at 2013 between the 3.0L build and the 3.6L build. If you need an aftermarket alternative we can source it. Electrical components are non-returnable once fitted; WhatsApp the part number and fault code before you commit to installing anything you are uncertain about.
DELIVERY & HOURS
Terrain Parts Delivery and Musaffah Shop Hours
Motronix Shop is at Musaffah Industrial Area M-40, Abu Dhabi. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:30 to 19:30. If you are planning to walk in, send the year, engine, and VIN on WhatsApp first so we can confirm the part is on the shelf before you make the trip.
Shelf stock confirmed before midday ships the same day to Abu Dhabi addresses. Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and the Northern Emirates are next working day. For locations outside those areas, check lead time on WhatsApp before placing the order. Unconfirmed orders are not held. Get us the Terrain generation and VIN and we reserve once that is confirmed.
WARRANTY
What Warranty Covers on ACDelco and Aftermarket Terrain Parts
ACDelco and GM Genuine for the Terrain carry a manufacturing defect warranty covering both generations. Brake components, suspension arms and bushings, filters, and mechanical parts are all included. Aftermarket parts we supply carry warranty cover as long as the fault is documented. A workshop report or a written fault description is required to process any claim.
Electrical components for the Terrain are sold non-returnable once installed. ABS wheel speed sensors, TPMS modules, and engine management sensors are in this category regardless of brand. Before you fit any electrical item you are uncertain about, WhatsApp the part number and the fault code. We match the specification to your Terrain VIN and confirm the correct part for your generation before you go ahead.
ON THE SHELF
Commonly Stocked GMC Terrain Parts at Musaffah
The table below comes from Motronix transaction and enquiry records for the GMC Terrain, reviewed September 2026. Coverage spans both the Theta first generation (2010–2017) and the Delta second generation (2018-on). Rankings reflect actual demand over 12-month and 24-month supply windows.
This is what the counter regularly holds. It is not a live stock check. WhatsApp the 17-digit VIN before you travel and we confirm today's shelf position and the generation fitment before any price is issued.
Terrain suspension demand is spread across both generations: sway bar links and brake pads for Theta and Delta builds appear throughout the data at consistent levels. Two active part populations are running on UAE roads simultaneously.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the first-generation and second-generation GMC Terrain?
- Two separate platforms, two separate suspension architectures, two separate engine families. The first-generation Theta Terrain (2010–2017) used naturally aspirated engines throughout: 2.4L I4 for the full run, and a V6 that started at 3.0L and moved to 3.6L in 2013. The second-generation Delta Terrain (2018-on) launched with turbocharged engines only: 1.5T I4 as the base, 2.0T I4 for higher trims, 1.6T diesel I4. It also replaced the conventional gear selector with Electronic Precision Shift push-button control. No parts cross between the two. WhatsApp the 17-digit VIN and we identify the exact platform and engine before anything is ordered.
- Do Chevrolet Equinox parts fit a GMC Terrain?
- Theta architecture links the first-generation Terrain and first-generation Equinox, so cross-fitment is possible on certain part categories. It is not guaranteed: trim and year differences within the platform matter. Send the Terrain VIN and the specific part number and we run it against our stock. For second-generation vehicles, Terrain and Equinox both use Delta-family architecture, but VIN verification is still required before we confirm any cross-fit.
- Which GMC Terrain engine families do you cover for service parts?
- For the Theta first generation: 2.4L naturally aspirated I4 (all years, 2010–2017), 3.0L V6 (2010–2012), and 3.6L V6 (2013–2017). For the Delta second generation: 1.5T I4 (base), 2.0T I4 (higher trims and Denali), and 1.6T diesel I4. Service parts differ by engine family. WhatsApp the year and engine with your VIN and we confirm what is on the shelf for your specific Terrain build.
- Where is the VIN on a GMC Terrain and how does it help confirm parts fitment?
- The Terrain VIN plate sits on the driver's side dashboard, readable through the windshield from outside the vehicle. The driver's door jamb sticker carries it as well. The 17-digit number encodes model year, assembly plant, engine code, and build sequence. For parts, the VIN tells us which platform generation and which engine your car carries. WhatsApp it and we decode both before we pull anything from the shelf.
