& the UAE
Two Explorer generations, two completely different architectures. The U502 (2011–2019) is a front-drive-based unibody; the U625 (2020–on) flipped to a longitudinal rear-drive platform. Motorcraft for both generations is on the Musaffah shelf. Tell us your VIN and we pull from the right bin.
INVENTORY
Explorer Shelf Stock at Musaffah: U502 and U625
Motorcraft shelf stock for Ford Explorer runs across the 5th gen U502 (2011–2019) and 6th gen U625 (2020–on). Regular turnover at the counter includes brake pads and rotors, oil and cabin air filters, spark plugs, ignition coils, suspension control arms and ball joints, front and rear shock absorbers, and power steering components for U502 electro-hydraulic builds.
UAE-market U502 Explorer builds were available with the 2.0L EcoBoost inline-4, the 2.3L EcoBoost inline-4, or the 3.5L naturally aspirated Ti-VCT V6, with the EcoBoost V6 available in later production. The U625 settled on the 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 in ST trim and the 2.3L EcoBoost in base variants. Filter and spark plug part numbers are engine-specific across all of these. Motorcraft consumables are stocked for each.
OEM & AFTERMARKET
Why the Explorer Service Schedule Names Motorcraft
The Explorer service schedule does not say 'use an oil filter'; it calls Motorcraft by part number. The same goes for air filter and spark plug intervals. We carry those consumables on the shelf for U502 and U625 builds. For the U625 3.0L twin-turbo, Motorcraft specifies both an oil viscosity and a filter rating to protect turbo bearing lubrication; send your VIN and we confirm the exact specification.
Aftermarket brake pads, rotors, and suspension arms for Explorer are stocked where a customer asks for them. Warranty terms are the same as Motorcraft: a documented fault is required, and electrical parts are non-returnable after installation. If Motorcraft does not have the exact part on the shelf for your trim, we give you an availability date and can source it. We do not substitute without telling you.
FITMENT CHECK
U502 to U625: Why Explorer Parts Never Cross Between Generations
The U502 (2011–2019) Explorer was built on a front-wheel-drive-based unibody derived from Ford's D4 architecture, a development of the D3, shared with the Flex and Lincoln MKT. Front suspension runs MacPherson struts; the rear is an independent multi-link setup. AWD builds route drive through a power transfer unit bolted to the front transaxle. Caliper brackets, front strut housings, and rear subframe mounts belong exclusively to this platform. No U502 suspension part crosses to U625.
When the U625 arrived in 2020, it came on Ford's CD6 rear-wheel-drive-based platform, shared with the Aviator. The engine moved to a longitudinal mount, making rear-wheel drive the standard layout. AWD on U625 uses a conventional rear differential and transfer case, replacing the U502's transaxle-mounted power transfer unit entirely. Front suspension geometry shifted from MacPherson struts to a double-wishbone arrangement on certain trim levels. Caliper sizing, rotor dimensions, and knuckle geometry are all unique to U625.
GCC-spec Explorer trim lines and US production can differ in rotor sizing and brake pad compound specifications for UAE-market vehicles. WhatsApp your 17-digit VIN before ordering any suspension, brake, or driveline component. We run the VIN against generation, trim, drivetrain, and engine variant before anything comes off the shelf.
DELIVERY & HOURS
How to Order Explorer Parts from Musaffah
Motronix Shop is at Musaffah Industrial Area M-40, Abu Dhabi, open Monday to Saturday 08:30–19:30. Walking in works; calling or WhatsApping the VIN and part number ahead keeps the visit short.
Reserve the part before the trip: confirm VIN, generation, and part number and we hold it. Abu Dhabi shelf orders confirmed before midday go out the same day. Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and the Northern Emirates receive next working day. We do not hold Explorer stock for unconfirmed orders.
WARRANTY
Explorer Parts Warranty: What the Claim Requires
Every Motorcraft part carries warranty against manufacturing defects. Aftermarket parts we supply for Explorer carry warranty cover too, when the fault is documented. Proof is required either way: a workshop report or a written description of what failed.
Electrical Explorer components do not come back once they are fitted. That covers sensors, engine control modules, SYNC infotainment units, transfer case control modules, and ABS modules. If you are not certain about an electrical part before installation, WhatsApp the part number and fault description first. We check it against your VIN and trim before the purchase is final.

What the Musaffah Counter Actually Moves for Explorer
The Motorcraft reference table above covers what Ford produces for Explorer. This section records what actually moves off the Musaffah shelf. Data is drawn from Motronix ERP stock and sales records, reviewed September 2026, ranked by real transaction volume. The two lists do not always match.
What you see here is the regular pattern at the counter, not a real-time shelf confirmation. U502 (2011–2019) and U625 (2020–on) use different filters, spark plugs, and brake hardware. Send a 17-digit VIN on WhatsApp and the desk confirms today's availability before any quote goes out.
Sales volume for Explorer concentrates on oil filters, spark plugs, and brake pads for the 3.5L V6 U502 generation. Brake parts appear in both front and rear positions, with two separate pad sets covering different model-year bands, showing that U502 service work at the Musaffah counter remains active.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you stock Motorcraft parts for the Ford Explorer U502 and U625 in Abu Dhabi?
- Both are on the shelf: U502 (2011–2019) and U625 (2020–on). These two platforms share a name and nothing else: U502 is a FWD-based unibody, U625 is an RWD-based architecture. Suspension, brake hardware, and driveline parts do not cross between them. Give us a VIN and we confirm the correct bin.
- What changed in the Explorer's suspension when it moved from U502 to U625?
- Front suspension on the U502 is a MacPherson strut on a front-wheel-drive platform; the rear is independent multi-link. The U625 repositioned the drivetrain longitudinally around a rear-wheel-drive base, and the front suspension moved to a double-wishbone layout on higher trims. Rear geometry changed as well to suit the new differential layout. Nothing crosses between the two. Always give us the generation or VIN before ordering.
- Can I collect Explorer parts from Musaffah on the same day in Abu Dhabi?
- For shelf-confirmed Motorcraft parts, midday is the Abu Dhabi same-day cutoff. Orders placed after midday dispatch next working day. Walk-in collection is available at Musaffah Monday to Saturday 08:30–19:30. Send the VIN and part number on WhatsApp first; we confirm what is actually on the shelf and reserve it before you travel.
